7 Diseases that Often Attack Children

1. Diarrhea

2. Colds

Viral infections are accused of being the main cause of colds which cause the lining of the nose and respiratory tract to produce mucus. The child will experience fever as one of the symptoms. Sometimes it is difficult to breathe, coughing, shortness of breath, and disturbed eating or sleeping patterns. Babies also experience sneezing or sometimes decreased appetite.

 

3. Fever

Fever is the body's natural response to changes that occur in a child's body. For example, tooth growth. A child is said to have a fever if his body temperature is more than 37.5 degrees Celsius.

 

4. Constipation

Constipation or constipation is a health problem in children that is still quite high. As many as 30% constipation occurs more often in children. Most constipation in children (>90%) is functional and no abnormalities are found during examination by a doctor. According to the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (NASPHGAN), constipation means that the child has difficulty or is delayed defecating for two weeks or more.

 

5. Sore Throat

Usually children tend to have difficulty swallowing, so they will be fussy when they want to eat. Other symptoms are a dry and itchy throat, headache, body feeling tired, and muscle aches. This disease is usually caused by viruses and bacteria.

 

6. Eczema

Eczema is a skin disorder characterized by inflammation or swelling of the skin, as well as redness and itching. Even though it is not contagious, eczema can cause discomfort on the affected skin.

 

7. Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI)

ARI is a respiratory tract infection that attacks the upper parts, such as the nose, throat, pharynx, larynx and bronchi. This disease is generally caused by viral and bacterial infections. Symptoms include: blocked nose (often blowing your nose), sneezing, coughing, fever, headache, fatigue, and pain when swallowing.
