Not only children, adults also need complete vaccination

Vaccination is the process of administering a vaccine to help the immune system develop protection from a disease. The vaccine itself contains microorganisms or viruses in a weakened state, alive or dead or contains proteins from organisms. Vaccines are not only given to children, but adults also need to be vaccinated to increase the body's immunity against certain diseases. The process of administering vaccines is an effort to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases by building the body's immunity against certain diseases.

Several reasons why we need to vaccinate, namely:

Vaccines are the best way to protect yourself and your family from preventable diseases

    Vaccines can prevent serious illnesses

Vaccines can increase the body's immunity

There are several vaccines needed by adults, including:

    Influenza

Influenza is a disease that is contagious and attacks the upper respiratory tract due to influenza viruses types A and B. Although influenza is often experienced by everyone because the transmission process is very easy and fast, this influenza virus replicates and mutates quite often. Therefore the influenza vaccine needs to be given once a year.

    HPV

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a virus that causes serious infections of the reproductive organs. HPV has various types. HPV types 16 and 18 in women cause cervical cancer while HPV types 6 and 11 in men cause genital warts.

    MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

The MMR vaccine is given to women who are planning a pregnancy to avoid Rubella infection during pregnancy. You should also note that the MMR vaccine is a live vaccine so it should not be given while the mother is pregnant.

    Meningitis

Meningitis is an inflammatory disease of the lining of the brain caused by meningococcal bacteria. In several countries around the African Meningitis Belt, travelers have a high risk of spreading meningitis infection. Meningitis vaccine can also be given in special conditions such as when going on the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages.

Typhoid

Typhoid or typhoid occurs due to food or drink contaminated by Salmonella Thyphi bacteria. Typhoid vaccination is given 1 routine dose every 3 years. For better protection, always adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle.

    Hepatitis A and B

Hepatitis A is an endemic disease in Indonesia, spread through food that has been contaminated with the hepatitis A virus. Hepatitis A can cause acute liver failure. The hepatitis A vaccine is given 2 times with a minimum gap of 6 months. Hepatitis B is a virus that infects the liver, causing liver cirrhosis.
