INCREASED RISK OF DISEASE

Migraine is a headache that feels throbbing and usually occurs on one side of the head. Migraines can be short-lived and subside on their own, but sometimes they can also persist for a few hours or even a few days.

Based on the results of WHO research, of the total age group of 18-65 years who have suffered from headaches, 30 percent of them are migraine sufferers. Generally, migraine symptoms first appear at puberty, then worsen when entering the age of 35-45 years.

The danger of migraine needs to be watched out further. Migraine itself is basically caused by inflammation that causes blood vessels in the brain to swell. Migraines can occur because they are hereditary diseases or due to other factors.

Migraine is one type of nerve disease that causes the head to feel sore and throbbing.

Migraine Symptoms and Triggers

The main symptom of migraine is severe headache on one side of the head. The pain felt is generally throbbing pain with moderate to severe intensity which is increasingly felt when moving, seeing bright lights, or hearing noise.

The appearance of migraines can be triggered by increased levels of the hormone estrogen, or emotional factors, such as stress or anxiety. The use of certain medications, such as birth control pills, can also trigger migraines.

The risk of disease may increase if migraines are frequent

Heart disease

Migraines can occur at any time when they meet the trigger. Whether it's very hot weather, skipping meals, or because of lack of sleep.

If you are already at risk for heart disease or already have heart disease and have frequent migraines, avoid migraine medications that contain triptans. This drug can cause narrowing of blood vessels in the brain and heart. In addition, stop smoking and avoid cigarette smoke around.

Anxiety disorders

What links these two conditions, again, is the stress of both migraine triggers and anxiety attack triggers. Know there are many ways to relieve excessive stress and anxiety.

Stroke

If you often experience headaches accompanied by sensitivity to bright light and a tingling sensation on your face or hands, you must be vigilant. Migraines can be at risk of causing an ischemic stroke. Ischemic stroke occurs when a blood vessel supplying blood to an area of the brain is blocked by a blood clot.

Depression

Migraines and mental illness can be related. Migraines often occur in people who have depression and bipolar disorder.

And other diseases such as:

  • Hypertension
  • Seizures
  • Hearing loss
  • Fibromyslgis or pain all over the body, burning sensation like stabbing, stiff muscles, until difficulty sleeping

Those are some of the dangers that can arise when you often migraine. Therefore, never underestimate migraines. When you start to feel migraine symptoms, then immediately treat it medically and rest so that the headache immediately subsides.
