Recognize Anemia Conditions with Anemia Screening at the Hermina Pasteur Laboratory
Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells function to provide oxygen to body tissues. So when the body does not have enough red blood cells, less oxygen is carried to body tissues. Healthy red blood cells last around 90-120 days. In red blood cells, there is hemoglobin, which is an oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells. Hemoglobin gives red blood cells their color. However, in people with anemia, red blood cells do not have enough hemoglobin. Anemia where the hemoglobin (Hb) concentration/red blood cell count is less than normal for human physiological needs. Anemia is experienced by 1/3 of the world's population. Iron deficiency is one of the highest causes of anemia, which threatens health and quality of life.
Other common causes of anemia include:
- Lack of iron, vitamin B12, or nutrients from the daily diet
- Consumption of certain drugs
- Red blood cells break down more quickly than usual (which may be caused by an immune system problem).
- Long-term (chronic) illnesses such as chronic kidney disease, cancer, ulcerative colitis, or arthritis.
- Some forms of anemia, such as thalassemia or sickle cell anemia, can be inherited from a family history. Pregnancy
- There are problems with the bone marrow, such as lymphoma, leukemia, myelodysplasia, multiple myeloma, or aplastic anemia.
- Slow bleeding (for example, due to heavy menstrual periods or stomach ulcers)
Symptoms of anemia:
- Body weak, feeling tired quickly
- Shortness of breath/shortness of breath
- Dizzy and dizzy
- Hands and feet feel cold.
- Headache
- Difficulty concentrating
- Insomnia
Recognize the condition of anemia with a laboratory examination at Hermina Pasteur with a choice of packages:
