Recognize the difference between chicken pox and fire pox that irritates the skin

Chickenpox generally affects children under the age of 10. However, in some cases, this disease can also affect adults. Even in adults, the symptoms tend to be more severe than those of children. Chickenpox is an infectious disease caused by the Varicella zoster virus. That is why this disease is also known as varicella. Chickenpox is a contagious skin disease. The smallpox virus spreads quickly through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes, as well as direct contact with mucus, saliva, or blisters on the skin. So, there is no difference between shingles and chickenpox in terms of transmission.
The hallmark of smallpox is the presence of large amounts of itchy fluid-filled bumps. After some time, the elastic will crack and dry out. However, itchy bumps are also the main symptom of shingles or shingles. They are two different diseases, but they are related. So, how do you tell the difference between these two diseases?

Check out a more complete discussion of the differences between chickenpox and smallpox.

Both have the form of the main symptoms that are equally disturbing, it turns out that there are other characteristics that can be the difference between chickenpox and shingles.

If the rash is in the form of red spots, the symptoms of chickenpox will turn into elastic which causes itching, while in smallpox, it will not only cause itching but also soreness. The rash on chickenpox usually can quickly turn dry. The healing time is only about 1 week, marked by chicken pox scabs that peel or leave chickenpox scars that are difficult to remove.

While shingles takes longer, the rash will dry up and go away on its own within 3-5 weeks. Smallpox (herpes zoster) is an advanced infection of the virus that causes chickenpox. If you have experienced chickenpox, the possibility that someone will experience chickenpox is relatively large. The difference between chickenpox and shingles is also shown through the spread of skin rashes on the body. The chickenpox rash is initially found in the middle of the body such as the face and front of the body. In shingles, the rash tends to spread on one side of the body with clusters of spots that are more concentrated in one area. However, gradually a rash may also appear on the face and scalp.

A preventive measure that is quite effective in avoiding the occurrence of smallpox is to undergo chickenpox vaccination. This vaccination is recommended for young children and adults who have not yet had the vaccine. In young children, the first injection of the Varicella or chickenpox vaccine is given at the age of 12 to 15 months, and a follow-up injection is carried out when the child is 2 to 4 years old. Meanwhile, older children and adults need to get 2 (two) vaccinations, with a difference of at least 28 days.
