So Hermina's friend, high sugar can actually cause disease, because too much sugar in the blood does not produce enough insulin. If experienced in the long term and not treated quickly, this condition can cause damage to body organs, such as the eyes, nerves, kidneys and blood vessels.

Sugar is a food ingredient that has a sweet taste, and is commonly used in various foods and drinks that we eat every day. But you need to know one thing, namely that consuming excessive sugar can increase the risk of various health problems, non-communicable diseases, from obesity to diabetes. Hermina's friends daily sugar intake according to recommendations from the Ministry of Health is a maximum of 50 grams or a dose of 4 tablespoons per day. Even though the use of sugar is limited, it is still permitted to use sugar as a spice as long as it is not excessive.

Apart from that, there are several ways to reduce daily sugar intake in the following ways. :

• Reduce consumption of processed foods that contain high levels of sugar, salt and fat, for example snacks in the form of biscuits, cakes and other snacks.

• Reduce consumption of food or drinks that have added sugar in the dish, such as what we find in drinks, such as soft drinks and packaged drinks.

• Read the nutritional value information for each food or food ingredient you buy, so you can measure it according to the recommendations above;

• Increase consumption of vegetables, fruit, low-fat milk.

• Increase light physical activity such as jogging, leisurely walking or cycling;

• Routinely control your daily sugar intake by regularly checking your blood sugar, this can also help you to know your body's reaction

• when consuming food so that the body can adapt to the food consumed.

Controlling sugar can start with a healthy lifestyle, such as regular physical activity, controlling food portions, getting enough rest, managing stress.
