THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING MENTAL HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACE

Hermina's friends, in a work environment that is competitive and often full of pressure, mental health issues are becoming increasingly important. Mental health is not just about a calm mind and feeling balanced, it also influences productivity and general well-being in the work environment.

Mental health or mental health is a level of psychological well-being which consists of several types of conditions which are generally categorized into health disorders such as anxiety, stress and depression.

Without proper treatment, disturbed mental conditions can trigger problems in daily life which ultimately affect the sufferer's quality of life, such as reduced productivity at work and can damage social relationships with other people.
Causes of mental health disorders in the work environment:

-Communication and management systems are less harmonious
-Low support for and between employees
-Fatigue at work
-Family factors
-Health factors

Everyone's work environment definitely has a positive and negative impact on the psychological health of its workers. Many factors can influence this, from environmental problems, to co-workers who we interact with almost every day. That way, mental health can be disturbed. The most important thing to pay attention to to maintain mental health at work is to maintain a balance in everything in the office. Things that include, such as managing work stress, time management, and managing time for work with personal life. If the mental health of workers is disturbed, employee productivity will also decrease. In fact, productivity is one of the most important things to drive a company's progress.

Among the causes of mental disorders that occur in the office are feelings of stress that accumulate, causing acute disorders. This can happen due to experiencing physical and emotional fatigue. That way, productivity will also decrease compared to usual. It is very important to overcome mental disorders that occur in the work environment because they may affect the performance of teammates. What must be done is to prioritize balance between work time and personal time. When people have time for themselves, they will become more relaxed.
There are a number of treatment methods that can be recommended by a specialist doctor to help in managing or overcoming mental health disorders.

Some of these treatments are: 

1. Consuming drugs

Medications must be given according to a doctor's prescription and aim to treat symptoms of mental disorders due to abnormalities in chemical compounds in the brain. Usually, doctors will also ask patients to undergo psychotherapy so that treatment results are more effective and optimal.

2. Psychotherapy

Through psychotherapy, patients can convey their feelings and thoughts and the doctor will provide appropriate advice. Usually, doctors will guide patients in controlling their feelings and managing their emotions and behavior. 

3. Supporting Groups

Patients with mental health disorders are usually also advised to join a support group. Through this activity, it is hoped that they can share experiences and suggestions with each other so that the recovery process can run optimally.

4. Stimulation of the Brain

Stimulation of the brain consists of several types, namely transcranial magnetic stimulation, vagus nerve stimulation, electroconvulsive, and deep brain stimulation. This therapy method is considered effective in helping patients overcome the mental disorders they experience.

5. Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation methods are usually given to patients who experience mental health problems due to drug abuse. This method aims to stop the patient's dependence on these drugs.

6. Hospital Treatment

If close supervision from medical personnel is required, the patient may be advised to undergo intensive treatment in hospital. Usually this is done to prevent emergency conditions, such as suicide attempts.

7. Self-Care

Not only through medical assistance or therapy, patients with mental health problems can also undergo treatment independently. This can be done by adopting a healthy lifestyle and managing stress well.
