This will continue to increase if we do not adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Several diseases are caused by a lack of a healthy lifestyle, namely hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Hypertension is defined as an increase in systolic blood pressure > 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure > 90 mmHg on two measurements. Hypertension is not only found in elderly patients, but can also be found in productive adults. This is caused by an unhealthy lifestyle and hereditary factors.
An unhealthy lifestyle that can cause hypertension, the causes of hypertension are rarely doing activities, foods high in salt, often staying up late, stress, consuming alcohol and coffee, and smoking. Symptoms that can be felt and caused vary from no symptoms, headaches, palpitations, fatigue, blurred vision, or even not feeling any symptoms.
Apart from hypertension, the disease caused by a lack of a healthy lifestyle is Diabetes Mellitus Type II. The main symptoms of this disease are frequent urination, hunger quickly, and frequent thirst. Apart from these three symptoms, there are also additional symptoms of type II diabetes mellitus, namely drastic weight loss without any clear cause, tingling, itching in the genital area, ulcers that come and go, blurred vision, fatigue quickly, vaginal discharge in women, difficult wounds. healing, easy drowsiness, and impotence in men.
To keep the body healthy, it is necessary to adopt a healthy lifestyle such as regular regular health checks, reducing smoking habits, exercising regularly, eating foods low in salt, low in sugar, high in protein, and good stress management. Here are tips for a healthy lifestyle that we can do:

1. Regular Health Checks
This can be done by measuring blood pressure independently at home, avoiding physical activity, drinking coffee or tea 30 minutes before the measurement. Routine health checks can also be carried out at Posbindu or Community Health Centers. Health checks that can be carried out include checking blood pressure, measuring body weight and height, calculating BMI (calculated by dividing BB by TB in m squared), measuring waist circumference. Supporting examinations such as checking blood sugar, uric acid, cholesterol can be carried out every 6 months if there are no symptoms or history of related diseases.
2. Avoid cigarette smoke
Don't be an active or passive smoker, if someone in your family smokes, advise them to stop and if this is not possible, direct them to smoke outside. Apart from smoking, vaping also has the same effect as regular cigarettes so it is not recommended. The next healthy lifestyle is diligently doing activities 2-3 times a week for at least 15 minutes of exercise, such as walking, swimming or cycling.
