Let's Prevent Stroke With "SMART"

Stroke is a collection of clinical symptoms that occur due to blood vessel disorders in the brain, eyes, and spinal cord. As is known, stroke occurs because the brain does not receive a blood supply that carries oxygen and nutrients so that its cells die
Basically, stroke cases occur around 12.2 million new cases of stroke per year and one case occurs every 3 seconds, in cases of stroke, 63% occur in the age range <70 years with a presentation of 1 in 4 people will experience stroke.
Stroke is the 2nd highest cause of death and disability no. 1 in the world. Stroke has increased by 50% in the last 17 years.

Stroke Types Are Divided Into 2, namely:
1. Blockage Stroke (Ischemic/Non-hemorrhagic)
Blockage stroke or commonly known as Ischemic/Non-hemorrhagic occurs due to lack of blood flow to the brain which occurs due to blocked blood vessels, and this condition also causes tissue death (infarction).

Ischemic stroke is caused by thrombosis or embolism. In thrombosis, blood flow to the brain is blocked due to atherosclerosis (fatty deposits/plaque in the arteries) or inflammation. While in embolism, blood clots from other parts of the body can block blood flow, especially from the heart.

2. Hemorrhagic Stroke (Hemorrhagic)
Hemorrhagic stroke or commonly called hemorrhagic stroke is a type of stroke caused by rupture of blood vessels in the brain area. This condition can threaten brain function due to loss of oxygen supply to the brain. Hemorrhagic stroke is included in emergency conditions so that sufferers must immediately receive medical treatment as soon as possible.
