Suitable Keloids Treatment

Keloid, Hermina's best buddy, frequently makes patients feel insecure. Keloids make people feel as though their skin is less attractive since they appear on the skin's surface and thicken with a brownish tone. In order to preserve and repair the tissue in the damaged skin, a scar or fibrous tissue will typically form when the skin is harmed. Any area of the body with a wound or damage might develop keloids. Age, ethnicity, genetics, hormones, and the site of the injury are just a few of the variables that can make someone more likely to develop keloid growths. There are numerous ways to deal with a keloid scar if it thickens, including:

Surgery, which is taking all the keloid tissue and closing it
Utilizing a corset or other gear to restrain the area where the keloid first forms is known as pressure/pressure clothing.
A therapy called Silicon Gel Sheet/Silikon Gel involves continuously applying silicone gel sheets to the area with keloid growth for several months.
Intralesional Corticosteroid Injection: This procedure involves injecting corticosteroid intralesionally into keloid tissue.
keloid freezing therapy, which causes the keloid to deflate Small keloids respond well to this treatment.
laser, a technique that can hide color and lessen keloid lumps. It is frequently used with corticosteroid injections.

Keloids can be avoided in a number of ways, including the ones listed below:

Avert harm. Because the body will go through a wound healing process if an injury happens. The scar, however, will take on the appearance of a keloid if the wound healing process is not successful.
Carefully tend to any wounds.
Use non-absorbable threads for skin sutures when closing surgical incisions.
Try not to over-tend when closing the edges of the wound with a suture.

Hermina's companions, Since keloids do not progress to cancer and will naturally stop growing, they are not a serious or painful condition. However, it is these scars that develop into keloids that can lead to issues that reduce the sufferers' quality of life. Keloids must therefore be avoided and treated properly. Consult our expert physician at Hermina Galaxy Hospital right away if you are at danger of acquiring keloids. Both our contact center at 1500488 and the Halo Hermina app make scheduling appointments with doctors simpler.

Wrinkles Around The Eyes, Here's How To Overcome It

Sahabat Hermina, with age, skin moisture and elasticity naturally decrease. This causes reduced fat in the skin layer and natural oil production, so that wrinkles appear under the eyes. Wrinkles under the eyes can sometimes interfere with appearance, and make you feel insecure.

Causes of Under Eye Wrinkles

Some of the causes of under eye wrinkles are:

UV Radiation UV

rays from the sun are dangerous if the body is exposed too often. Either one can cause wrinkles under the eyes and trigger other signs of aging. This has been proven by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) , which explains that unprotected UV exposure causes rough skin and wrinkles to appear earlier.

Smoking Habits The

Mayo Clinic reports that besides age, smoking is the strongest cause of wrinkles in both women and men. Smoking exposes the skin to extra oxidative stress, damaging its collagen and elastin. In addition, smoking also constricts blood vessels in the face, blocks circulation to blood vessels, and removes vitamin A.

Frequently Moving Facial Muscles Facial

expressions, such as smiling, frowning, and furrowing the eyebrows, can cause the appearance of fine lines on the face, including wrinkles under the eyes. Sleep habits can also lead to fine lines if the same facial muscles are pushed against the pillow while sleeping each night. The skin will lose its ability to bounce back to its original place with age. Research in Taylor & Francis Online has shown that sleeping with your face in a pillow can lead to the appearance of lines under the eyes.

Overcoming Wrinkles Under the Eyes with Medical Procedures

To get rid of wrinkles under the eyes quickly, there are several medical procedures that can be used, namely:

Chemical Peeling

Although it cannot completely get rid of wrinkles under the eyes, chemical peels are medical procedures that aim to remove skin cells. dead skin and increase skin regeneration so that a new, smooth skin layer can be formed.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion can also be used as a way to get rid of under-eye wrinkles through medical procedures. Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that aims to improve the overall skin texture. How it works, this medical procedure will remove the surface of the skin where there are wrinkles so that a new, smoother layer of skin is formed.

Laser

How to get rid of fine lines under the eyes can also be with laser treatment. This action is performed by giving a laser beam to the under eye area. The use of lasers aims to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen so that the new skin that grows will be firmer and smoother. Thus, wrinkles and fine lines in the under eye area can be disguised.

Filler

How to get rid of wrinkles in the eyes that you are probably most familiar with is filler. Filler is filling a certain substance into the skin tissue and tissue under the skin to reduce wrinkles and give a youthful appearance. Generally, reducing wrinkles under the eyes with fillers can last for 6 months to a maximum of 2 years.

Botox injections

Apart from fillers, Botox injections can also be done as a way to get rid of fine lines under the eyes. The results can be seen within a week and can last up to several months.

Overcoming Wrinkles Under The Eyes Naturally

In addition to the medical procedures described above, you can also reduce the appearance of wrinkles under the eyes in a natural way. Here are some ways to get rid of wrinkles under the eyes naturally:

Avoid Smoking

Another way to get rid of wrinkles under the eyes is to avoid smoking. This is because smoking can accelerate the premature aging process and break down collagen, thereby damaging skin elasticity. As a result, wrinkles and crow's feet under the eyes are inevitable.

Use Eye Cream

One way to get rid of wrinkles under the eyes is to use a moisturizer regularly. Apply eye cream to moisturize the skin of the eyes so they don't get drier as you age. In addition, drink lots of water to maintain skin moisture and elasticity.

Use Sunscreen

Exposure to sunlight can indeed increase the risk of aging of the skin. For that, one way to get rid of wrinkles under the eyes, Moms need to use sunscreen before doing activities so that the face remains protected from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays.

Adjust Sleeping Position Sleeping

On your side or stomach can increase your risk of having wrinkles. Therefore, try to sleep on your back to avoid the appearance of wrinkles.

Avoid Stress

The next way to deal with wrinkles under the eyes is to avoid stress. Because, when you are stressed, the body will release the stress hormone or cortisol excessively in the bloodstream. Increased production of the hormone cortisol can cause the breakdown of cells in the skin, including the area around the eyes.

Exfoliate the Skin Exfoliate

Is the easiest way to help get rid of wrinkles under the eyes. Routinely exfoliate the skin twice a week, to help remove dry skin cells that form under the eyes, and encourage new cell growth. Choose a special product that is safe for exfoliating the skin under the eyes. Given the skin of this section is very thin and sensitive. Don't forget to use skincare under the eyes regularly, so that the results are maximized

Apply Olive Oil

The benefits of olive oil for beauty are indeed very abundant. This is because the content of olive oil is good for the skin, such as containing vitamins E and K. No doubt many people use it to moisturize the skin and as a way to get rid of wrinkles under the eyes. Even though there is no medical research that proves the benefits of olive oil for getting rid of wrinkles under the eyes, applying a little to the area around the eyes can help keep the skin moisturised, you know. Instead of applying olive oil directly to the surface of the skin under your eyes, you can add a pinch of turmeric powder. Stir well until it becomes a thick paste. Then, apply on the surface of the skin under the eyes. Leave it for 20 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water until clean.

Consumption of High Nutritious Foods

Fruits and vegetables contain lots of antioxidants that can fight free radicals in the skin. Eating a variety of healthy foods provides the essential nutrients your body needs to carry out its important functions.

So, if the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines under the eyes is quite disturbing to your appearance, there's nothing wrong with applying various ways to get rid of wrinkles under the eyes naturally or medically. Hopefully useful, yes. Salam sehat.

Diabetic Foot Ulcer - Keep an eye on your feet

Diabetic foot is a disorder characterized by infection, scabs, and/or tissue damage associated with abnormalities in the nerves and blood flow of the lower limbs in diabetics. Diabetes causes 40-60% of amputations that are not the result of an accident, and Diabetic Foot affects 4-10% of diabetics.Diabetes mellitus patients frequently experience diabetic foot.Fortunately, this can be prevented with good foot care. With good daily care, any complications that arise will be treated before they get worse.

There are three major types of diabetic foot problems:

Blood flow problems
Infection problem
Neuropathy (nerve) problems

High sugar levels in the blood will damage the walls of blood vessels, resulting in reduced blood flow to the ends of the feet, and less blood flow causes less oxygenation in damaged tissue, causing scabs. The scab will be difficult to heal with less blood flow, so the scab will become deeper. Signs of diabetic foot are pale, thinning, shiny skin, tissue under the skin thinning, hair on the feet and toes falling out or balding, toenails thickening and yellowing, and the pulse in the feet weakening or disappearing. The feet can also experience sharp pain, similar to being stabbed, especially after physical activity.

The examination that will be carried out by the doctor is:

The Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) is a comparison of arm and leg blood pressure.
Doppler ultrasound
CT Scan of Blood Vessels
Angiography

Things to do to avoid complications, namely:

Controlling blood sugar levels can reduce damage to blood vessels and nerves. If there is a leg wound, blood sugar control will lower the chance of needing an amputation.
Quit smoking. Smoking has been shown to exacerbate blood vessel conditions and can further impair blood flow to the legs.
Reduce activities that can injure your feet. such as walking barefoot or using hot compresses on the feet.
Regular exercise, such as diabetes gymnastics.
Cut the toenails properly; do not injure the surrounding tissue; and smooth the sharp edges so as not to injure the other toes.
If you have problems with your nails or toes, contact your doctor immediately.
Daily foot washing and inspection.
Use warm water and mild soap to clean your feet.
Dry your feet and use a moisturizer that doesn't contain alcohol or fragrances that are irritating to the skin.
Examine the entire surface of the foot in detail. If necessary, use a mirror or ask for help from other family members.

What if there is already a scab?

Scabs that are only on the surface of the skin:

The doctor will clean and remove dead skin and tissue.
If there is an infection, antibiotics can be given.
The sufferer must clean and change the scabs on his feet two times a day.
Try to raise your legs while sitting.
The scab should be examined by a specialist once a week.

Deep scabs involving muscles and bones require hospitalization, as they require an x-ray examination and the injection of antibiotics. Surgery may be needed to remove the infected bone. If part of the foot or toes are damaged, resulting in dead and rotting tissue, a partial amputation or amputation may be required. Patients with Diabetic Legs and impaired blood flow to their feet will receive therapy to improve blood flow, which may include drug administration, surgery, or endovascular procedures.Sufferers need to learn a lot and know things related to diabetic feet. Sufferers and doctors must work together as a team to treat this disease.

Foot care is the most important factor in preventing this complication. Before consulting a doctor, Hermina's friends are advised to record the complaints they are experiencing. remembering what Hermina's friend was doing before the complaint was felt, whether Hermina's friend had an injury or not. In addition, collect a complete medical history, including any medical history. This helps doctors determine what diseases Hermina Friends are suffering from.

Early Detection of Nasopharyngeal Cancer

Nowadays cancer is one of the scariest things. Considering that cancer tends to be deadly, it costs a lot to treat and care for it. In the ENT department, nasopharyngeal cancer is the cancer with the most or highest malignancy.

According to the American Cancer Society, Nasopharyngeal Cancer or Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC) is a malignant tumor that most often grows in the nasopharynx. In general, nasopharyngeal cancer is a type of cancer that grows in the cavity behind the nose and behind the roof of the mouth.

Symptoms of Nasopharyngeal Cancer

In patients with nasopharyngeal cancer, the symptoms can be divided into early symptoms and advanced symptoms, which are as follows:

Nasal symptoms characterized by nosebleeds,
Ear symptoms, namely hearing feeling full of one side,
Eye symptoms where the view is double
What is most often found is the symptom at an advanced stage where there is already a lump in the neck which is the spread of the parent tumor.

Nasopharyngeal Cancer Risk Facts

The cause of nasopharyngeal cancer is multifactorial, not only one but many are linked, namely nitrosamines which are found in salted fish, then linked to cigarettes. 90% of patients with cancer are smokers because smoking is indeed one of the clear evidences that it can cause cancer. Family factors also play a role, are more at risk compared to other people who have no offspring in their family.

How to Prevent Nasopharyngeal Cancer

To prevent nasopharyngeal cancer, just like other cancers, namely as follows:

Adopting a healthy lifestyle such as avoiding smoking and consuming excessive alcoholic beverages.
Also reduce the consumption of processed and salted foods because they contain nitrosamine compounds which can trigger the growth of cancer cells
Do early detection if we have symptoms or we can also carry out routine medical check-ups to maintain and detect health problems as early as possible.

When nasopharyngeal cancer is found at an early stage, the treatment will be easier so that the patient's quality of life will be better and the most important thing is that his recovery rate will be better if he is detected at an early stage.

If you have experienced it, Friends of Hermina can treat nasopharyngeal cancer together with dr. Yulvina Djamil, Sp.THT-KL(K) at Hermina Bekasi Hospital.

Download the Halo Hermina application to make an appointment with specialist doctors at Hermina Bekasi Hospital.

Friends of Hermina can also do radiotherapy at the Radiation Oncology Installation of Hermina Bekasi Hospital as a cancer treatment step.

Sinusitis

Friends of Hermina, sinusitis is a condition where there is inflammation of the sinus walls. There are 2 types of sinusitis, namely chronic sinusitis and acute sinusitis. The cause of sinusitis is a viral infection or allergies which can cause swelling of the walls in the nose.

Chronic sinusitis is a type of sinusitis that can occur when the space in the nose and head is swollen for more than 12 weeks. This condition is usually caused by an infection, nasal polyps, or bone abnormalities in the nasal cavity. Meanwhile, acute sinusitis is different from chronic sinusitis, because acute sinusitis generally lasts 1-2 weeks, usually caused by a cold that comes from a viral infection. However, there are times when allergies and bacterial and fungal infections can also trigger this type of sinus.

Here are 7 important facts about sinusitis that Hermina's friends should know, namely:

1. Flu due to sinus takes a long time to heal

2. The color of sinus mucus is different from the color of mucus during a cold

3. Coughing up phlegm is a sign of sinusitis

4. The cause of sinuses is not only due to viruses

5. Sinusitis can recur

6. Sinusitis can cause complications

7. Sinusitis can be treated

The common causes of recurring sinusitis are due to infection, exposure to dust, cigarette smoke, air, and decreased body immunity. If sinusitis recurs, sufferers may also experience fatigue and experience problems with the sense of smell or taste, bad breath, fever, coughing and headaches. So sinusitis is a disease that must be treated because it can cause complications that can occur if an infection in one of the sinus cavities can easily spread and become an infection in other organs.

One solution for sinusitis is to perform Caldwell-Luc or CWL surgery. CWL action is a surgical procedure aimed at removing growths and improving sinus drainage. This surgery creates a passage between the nose and the cavities under the eyes, which then helps the drainage of the nose to be smooth.

But before it occurs, sinusitis can be prevented, among others, by adopting a healthy lifestyle, diligently maintaining cleanliness, and avoiding allergy-triggering substances. Treatment of sinusitis also depends on the type, but in general it is still taking medication from a doctor. For Friends of Hermina who want to consult or experience complaints that lead to sinusitis, immediately consult an ENT Specialist Doctor, for further information, please call 0821-3552-2454.

How to Manage Nutrition in Hemodialysis Patients

Hello Hermina Friends, hemodialysis patients often ask what is proper nutrition for hemodialysis patients? And why should we know? Because the nutritional diet in patients with kidney failure is a method that regulates the intake of food and drinks that enter the body and must be according to needs.

What is Hemodialysis?

Hemodialysis is dialysis therapy outside the body. This therapy is generally performed by people with kidney problems whose kidneys are not functioning optimally. Basically, the human body is able to wash the blood automatically, but if there is a problem with the kidneys, the kidneys will lose their function. Kidney is an organ that has a vital role in the body.

This organ is responsible for filtering blood. In addition to cleaning the blood in the body, the kidneys also form substances that keep the body healthy. However, in people with chronic kidney disease or kidney failure, this organ cannot function properly.

This condition causes the body to need dialysis using medical devices. In other words, in this condition, this treatment replaces the role of the kidneys when these organs are no longer able to work effectively.

The purpose of managing nutrition in hemodialysis patients:

1. Avoid excessive catabolism

2. Achieve optimal nutritional status

3. Synthesize damaged tissue

So, Friend of Hermina Bitung, food ingredients and anything consumed must be appropriate and not arbitrary.

Recommended and Restricted Food Ingredients and Processing Methods:

Nutritional arrangements for hemodialysis patients need to pay attention to what foodstuffs need to be limited and related to safe processing methods for patients.

Some of the recommended foodstuffs are:

1. Source of Carbohydrates: rice, vermicelli, noodles and sugar.

2. Sources of Animal Protein: eggs, milk, meat, fish, chicken.

3. tofu, soy milk, can be used as a substitute for animal protein for patients who like a variety of menus or for vegetarian patients as long as protein needs are still taken into account.

4. Source of Fat: coconut oil, corn oil, soybean oil, low-salt margarine, butter.

5. Source of vitamins and minerals

6. All vegetables and fruit, unless the patient has hyperkalemia, needs to avoid fruits and vegetables high in potassium and needs special management, namely by soaking vegetables and fruit in warm water for 2 hours, after that the soaking water is discarded, the vegetables/fruits are washed again with water flowing and for fruit can be cooked into fruit stup/fruit cocktail.

Food ingredients that are restricted for hemodialysis patients:

1. Avoid vegetables and fruits high in potassium if the patient has hyperkalemia. Foods high in potassium include spinach, gambas, cassava leaves, lychees, papaya leaves, young coconut, bananas, durian and jackfruit.

2. Avoid/limit foods high in sodium if the patient is hypertensive, edema and ascites. Food ingredients high in sodium include salt, MSG, dry broth/flavors, preserved, canned and salted foods.

So a friend of Hermina Bitung, if anyone wants to consult regarding nutrition in hemodialysis patients, they can consult a nutrition specialist and clinic dr. Patricia Fergie Claudia Halim Puteri, SpGK

BEWARE OF DIABETES IDENTIFY THE SYMPTOMS

Diabetes or diabetes is a condition where blood sugar or glucose levels in the body exceed normal limits. Diabetes is a disease characterized by high blood sugar levels because the pancreas cannot produce it properly. High blood sugar occurs due to a lack or insufficient insulin hormone because the body cannot use it optimally.

Types of diabetes mellitus:

Diabetes Mellitus Type 1

In diabetes mellitus type 1 occurs because the body's immune system attacks the beta cells in the pancreas where the pancreas itself plays a role in producing the hormone insulin. Diabetes mellitus type 1 the body is no longer able to produce insulin so that additional insulin is needed.

Diabetes Mellitus Type 2

In diabetes mellitus type 2 the most common type of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a condition in which the patient is still able to produce insulin but the insulin is no longer able to do its job, causing glucose not to enter the cells. Friends of Hermina, have you ever felt pain with a sharp sensation in the lower back area? Or even spread to the legs? Be alert, because this could be a symptom of a pinched nerve. This pain sensation will especially increase when Hermina's best friend bends over or is lifting something heavy. Let's get to know the symptoms...

What is a pinched nerve?
A condition in which the nerve fibers in the spine are compressed by the surrounding tissue, which can be compressed by the muscles, tendons, bones or cartilage in the spine. This condition causes pain to radiate to other parts of the body depending on where the nerve is pinched.

What causes a pinched nerve?

Hernia Nucleus Pulposus or disc herniation, a condition in which the spinal disc herniates from its rightful place, pressing the surrounding nerves.
Stenosis Spinal, namely the narrowing of the spine is not normal
Rheumatoid Arthritis, namely inflammation of the joints of the spine
Spine injury

How can we prevent the risk of a pinched nerve?
Friends of Hermina who have experienced this pinched nerve can experience it again in the future. Beware, Recognize Symptoms, and Prevent Genital Warts

Hello Friends of Hermina, Genital warts or condyloma acuminata is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), characterized by the appearance of lumps or protrusions on the skin or genital (pubic) mucosa. Genital warts are more common in young adults.

Nearly 100 types of HPV have been identified, but more than 90% of cases of genital warts are caused by HPV types 6 and 11. Classification of genital HPV infection based on risk is divided into two, namely low risk of infection, such as warts in the anogenital area, and high risk of infection as a cause of cancer cervix, oropharynx, and anus. As many as 70% of cancers are caused by HPV types 16 and 18.

Transmission occurs through sexual contact with someone who is infected. Warts may appear weeks to months from the first contact with infected skin or mucosa. Early detection of genital warts needs to be done as an effort to prevent the risk of cancer.

In most cases of genital warts, no symptoms are felt, but in some cases complaints of pain, itching, and discomfort can be found in the infected area. Warts can appear in the pubic area, between the thighs, vulva, vaginal wall, cervix, to the anus in women. In men, warts can appear on the pubic area, between the thighs, penis, testicular sac (scrotum), to the anus. Warts vary in size from small to large, so they are sometimes shaped like a cauliflower. Some can also be shaped like a chicken's comb.

A person with a weakened immune system such as HIV infection, pregnancy, diabetes mellitus, use of drugs that weaken the immune system such as in cases of organ transplants or cancer has a higher risk of infection with HPV.

Several supporting tests that can be performed on genital warts include a 5% acetic acid test, histopathological examination, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) examination. The 5% acetic acid test is performed by applying acetic acid to the suspected lesion and is clinically not very clear. After 5 minutes, the lesion that was smeared with liquid will turn white. Histopathological examination is generally performed on suspicious lesions that do not respond to treatment. PCR examination was carried out to determine the type of HPV.

Genital warts are treated based on the size, number, and location of the lesions. Treatment options can be in the form of topical therapy or surgical therapy. Topical therapy with a chemical liquid, namely podophyllin or trichloroacetic acid, is given by tapping the wart directly. Spot therapy can be repeated once a week until the warts are gone from the skin surface. Cryotherapy can also be done by applying liquid nitrogen to the wart surface. Treatment was repeated once a week until the lesions disappeared.

Surgical therapy includes electrosurgery (electrocauterization) and surgical excision performed on warts that are large and difficult to remove. After the procedure, the patient is informed to maintain cleanliness and properly care for the wound to prevent bacterial infection and faster wound healing.

Prevention efforts that can be taken to reduce the risk factors for genital warts include behavior changes such as changing partners, unprotected sexual contact (condoms) with different partners, and education about STIs in adolescents from an early age. Screening and tests are also needed to detect possible risks of other STIs and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in someone with genital warts, so that appropriate treatment can be given and symptoms of more severe disease can be prevented.

Routine Pap smears should be done for every woman who has had sex to detect the risk of cancer. Giving the HPV vaccine is an effort to prevent the occurrence of genital warts and reduce the risk of cancer. The administration of the HPV vaccine is not limited to women, but men can also be vaccinated.

If a friend of Hermina experiences symptoms of genital warts, immediately consult the nearest doctor so that they can be treated and given the right treatment.

"); $('#div_next_link').html(" ");
