Hermina Opens 30th Hospital in Jakabaring (Palembang)
Jakarta, August 29, 2018 – PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk (“Hermina”, “the Company”) opened its 30th general hospital, Hermina OPI Jakabaring Hospital. It is located in Jakabaring area, Banyuasin Regency, Palembang, South Sumatra. The opening of this hospital reiterates the plan for Hermina to add four general hospitals this year, after successfully opening Hermina Samarinda Hospital in April 2018.
Located at the Gubernur H.A. Bastari road, the hospital location is within the 25 hectares complex of Jakabaring OPI Business Centre (OBC), an integrated development that includes shopping centre, hospital, convention centre, hotel, apartment, shop houses, and waterpark.
As a type C medical facility, the hospital has 50 operational beds in the inpatient rooms ranging from class 3 to VVIP. It is also equipped with general and specialist polyclinics, a 24-hour Emergency Room (ER), a pharmacy, operating rooms, delivery rooms, intensive care units (ICUs), Neonatal / Pediatrics ICUs, Perinatology rooms, a radiology lab, a diagnostic laboratory, and a dentistry facility. Other supporting public facilities include canteen, prayer room, and children playgrounds. Starting with 50 operational beds, the hospital capacity can be increased gradually to reach 200 beds.
OPI Jakabaring complex is about two kilometers away from Jakabaring Sport City, where the Jakabaring Sports Building is located to host the 2018 Asian Games in Palembang. It can be conveniently reached by Light Rail Transit (LRT) from the airport. There is an LRT exit connected to the OPI Jakabaring Mall to provide ease of access for patients visiting the hospital.
There are 58 specialists from a variety of specialties practicing in the hospital. Prior to the opening, Hermina provided staff with education and training at other Hermina locations with plenary accreditation, which is the highest predicate given to a hospital by the Accreditation Committee Hospital in Indonesia (KARS), so that they will be ready to comfortably serve the patients once the new hospital is opened.
More than half of the hospital employees come from the population of Banyuasin Regency and surrounding areas. The hospital provides positive impacts to the surroundings, not only through the healthcare delivery, but also through providing employment and boosting to the local economy.
