Guest Lecture: What is the Role of BPJS for the Community and How The Role of Educational Hospitals in Improving Public Health

Wednesday, May 24 2023, 14:00 WIB until finished, University of Surabaya together with Ubaya Hospital held a guest lecture with the topic "What is the Role of BPJS for the Community and What is the Role of the Education Hospital in Improving Public Health". This guest lecture event directly invited Prof. Dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti, M.Sc., Ph.D. namely the Main Director of BPJS Kesehatan as the resource person. The guest lecture was attended by approximately 500 invited guests, most of whom were students from the University of Surabaya.

Prof. Ali Ghufron hopes that BPJS services can support public health facilities that are easy, fast and equal. With the existence of health supports such as teaching hospitals, Prof. Ali Ghufron also wants BPJS to be able to assist teaching hospitals in providing health services to JKN program participants in accordance with evidence-based medicine so that in the future teaching hospitals can produce health workers who support good quality and service. According to Prof. Ali Ghufron, until now BPJS Health has collaborated with many hospitals throughout Indonesia. In fact, 70 to 90 percent of the patients are BPJS patients.

This guest lecture was also attended by the Commissioner of PT. Keluwih Medika Surabaya, Prof. Ir. Joniarto Parung. Prof. Joniarto said that the guest lecture was expected to motivate students to become candidates for public health workers who aim to build a public health system from an early age. In addition, the purpose of this guest lecture is to educate about the role of BPJS Health in supporting teaching hospitals as providing health services to all levels of society in Indonesia. Prof. Joniarto underlined that Ubaya Hospital as a teaching hospital is ready to implement its health knowledge in the community and collaborate with BPJS Health as one of the best health services in Indonesia. Not only that, Prof. Joniarto emphasized that through this guest lecture the public can see the existence of Ubaya Hospital as a teaching hospital which will collaborate with BPJS Kesehatan in the near future.
