New Hermina Hospital Started Operating in Padang

Jakarta, December 20, 2018 – PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk (“Hermina”, “the Company”) opened its new general hospital, Hermina Padang Hospital (“Hermina Padang”), which is located in one of the major streets of the city of Padang, West Sumatera. The opening of this hospital completed the Company’s target to add four hospitals during 2018, after successfully opened Hermina Samarinda, Hermina Jakabaring, and Provita Hospital in Jayapura, which was set up through the collaboration with a local Papua organization and managed by Hermina. In addition to that, Hermina has signed an agreement to acquire a hospital in Lampung, Sumatra, which will be detailed at the next press release.

As a type C hospital, Hermina Padang operates 50 beds ranging from class 3 to VVIP.  It provides general and specialist polyclinics, a 24-hour Emergency Room (ER), a pharmacy, operating rooms, delivery rooms, intensive care units (ICUs), Neonatal / Pediatrics ICUs, Perinatology rooms, a radiology lab, a diagnostic laboratory, and a dentistry facility. Other standard supporting public facilities are also provided. In accordance with the Company’s strategy in developing new hospitals, Hermina Padang will be scaled up to gradually reach 200 beds.

There are 60 various specialists practicing in the hospital. Prior to the opening, Hermina provided staff with education and training at other Hermina locations with plenary accreditation, which is the highest predicate given to a hospital by the Accreditation Committee Hospital in Indonesia (KARS). Hermina aims for its staff to comfortably serve the patients once the new hospital is opened.

More than 60% of the hospital staff come from the local population of the city of Padang and surrounding areas. Thus, the hospital provides positive impacts to the local society, not only through the medical delivery, but also through providing employment to boost the local economy.
