Baby Blues Postnatal Syndrome?

The birth of a baby in the world is the most delightful thing for a mother, after waiting for nine months. After birth a mother will be very concerned about the newborn baby. At a time like this, it's important to take care of your mental health so you don't get Baby Blues Syndrome.

Pospartum Blues/Baby Blues Syndrome is a stage of temporary depression experienced by most newborn mothers due to changes in hormone levels, new responsibilities as a result of family enlargement and foster care for the baby. Baby Blues syndrome can develop into postpartum depression if not treated properly.

Signs and symptoms of a mom having a baby blues are

  1. Cognitive distortion, is excessive or irrational thinking that can cause psychological disorders
  2. unstable mood changes
  3. behavioral symptoms
  4. psychosomatic symptoms, such as depression, anxiety that makes the onset of accompanying diseases such as liver pain, headaches, tiredness, waist pain, and so on
  5. It usually occurs between the third and tenth days after childbirth, often after the patient leaves the hospital.

The symptoms of baby blues, for a mother who can cope with it can gradually disappear, but if she can't cope, this baby blues syndrome will take a long time to go away, the worst if it's not overcome can make her feel like giving up even the most frightening thing is wanting to kill herself.

Here's how to deal with it so you can avoid Baby Blues Syndrome

  1. Ask for help from spouses, parents and close relatives to change care and care for the little ones when they feel tired.
  2. Speak and talk about things that are important to the mother to the husband, family or close relative
  3. Take time to do things / hobbies that you like.
  4. There is family support and supportive physical environmental conditions.
  5. Understand and realize that no mother is perfect, ask for support from the child doctor to get information about the development and growth of the little one.
