PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk Celebrate the 39th Anniversary with Planting 3,900 Mangrove Trees
Jakarta, 20 May 2024 – Every 20 May, the Indonesian nation commemorates National Awakening Day which is defined as the rise of awareness of loving the homeland in any form, one of which is by loving the environment as early as possible. To coincide with its 39th anniversary, PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk (Hermina) in collaboration with Perhutani and the Forest Village Community Institute (LMDH) carried out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities by planting 3,900 mangrove trees.
CSR activities were carried out on Monday, May 20 2024, in Tanjung Pasir Village, Teluknaga, Kab. Tangerang, a coastal area managed by Perhutani and LMDH. This mangrove planting is a form of Hermina's concern for the environment and the Company's commitment to supporting the preservation of coastal ecosystems.
"The aim of planting mangroves is to prevent abrasion from the coast, it is hoped that we can all protect each other's environment. Apart from that, in the future we hope to be able to plant in other locations so that the plants we donate and plant are beneficial for the environment as a whole and the coast Jakarta & Banten are not eroded." said Dr. Susi Setiawaty, MARS, FISQua as Human Capital Director of PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk.
Mangroves have an important role in maintaining coastal ecosystems, such as preventing abrasion, reducing the impact of climate change, and providing habitat for various types of marine biota. By planting 3,900 mangrove trees, Hermina hopes to have a sustainable positive impact on the environment and surrounding communities.
Collaboration with Perhutani and LMDH also shows the importance of collaboration between the private sector, government and society in protecting and preserving the environment. "We thank you and a 39th birthday to Hermina, hopefully in the future, we can be more successful and smooth in health care. added Mr. Asep Senjaya, representative of Perhutani."
This activity ended with ceremonial planting mangrove trees by BOC, BOD, and Head of Department of PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk. It is hoped that similar activities can continue to be carried out in the future to maintain the balance of ecosystems and provide benefits for future generations.
