Recognize early and fight breast cancer

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that attacks the breast as a result of uncontrolled cell growth.

The people at risk of breast cancer are:

  2. First pregnancy at the age of 35 years
  3. Not breastfeeding

You should be aware of the early signs and symptoms of breast cancer, namely:

  1. A lump appears and does not cause pain.
  2. The surface of the breast seems to be pulled
  3. There is a concave surface.
  4. The discharge from the breast may contain blood and be yellow and purulent.
  5. The surface of the breast is red.
  6. Changes in skin color

The way to detect breast cancer is with the BSE method (self-breast examination) because it is easy, can be done at home, and no equipment is needed.

Steps that can be used to detect breast cancer early include:

  1. In front of the mirror, raise your hand and check whether there is redness or swelling in the breast.
  2. Place your hands on your waist and examine your breasts as in Step 1.
  3. Press the breast from top to bottom and feel for any lumps.
  4. Press the breast in circles and feel for any lumps.
  5. Press the breast towards the nipple and see if any fluid comes out.
  6. Lie down and press the breasts again in circles.

BSE is done at the age of 20 years or since menstruation, every month, on the 7–10th day after the first day of menstruation.

For those who have gone through menopause, do it every month on the same date. Treatment can be non-surgical, namely radiation and chemotherapy, as well as surgery with the removal of the breast tumor.
